Potential H-1B petitioners or their representatives must utilize a USCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process and submit the $215 H-1B registration fee per beneficiary.
H-1B petitioning employers without a USCIS online account must create an organizational account. Those who previously had an H-1B registrant account for the FY 2021-FY 2024 seasons, but did not use it for FY 2025, will have their existing account converted to an organizational one upon logging in next time. First-time registrants can create an account at any time. For more information and resources on organizational accounts, including step-by-step videos, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page. These FAQs will be updated with FY 2026 information before the initial registration period begins.

Clients can be added to representatives’ accounts at any point, however both parties will have to wait until March 7 to include beneficiary information and complete the registration process by paying the $215 fee. Selections will be made after the initial registration period ends, therefore there is no obligation to register on the day it begins.
For the upcoming FY 2026 H-1B cap, we will continue to use the beneficiary-centric selection process that was introduced in FY 2025. This means that registrations will be chosen based on individual beneficiaries, rather than by overall registration. If we receive a sufficient number of registrations for unique beneficiaries before March 24, we will randomly select and notify those individuals through their USCIS online accounts. However, if there are not enough registrations for unique beneficiaries, all properly submitted registrations during the initial period will be selected. By March 31, we will inform prospective petitioners and representatives whose accounts have at least one selected registration.
The U.S. Department of Treasury has authorized a temporary raise in the daily credit card transaction limit for the FY 2026 H-1B cap season. This adjustment, from $24,999.99 to $99,999.99 per day, is a response to the high volume of previous H-1B registrations that exceeded the daily limit. If transactions exceed $99,999.99, they can be made through Automated Clearing House (ACH). However, using ACH may require payors to inform their bank beforehand in order to avoid any potential ACH block on their account. We will provide further details prior to the start of the initial H-1B registration period.
